On April 30th, our church had the privilege of combining our Wednesday night
service with the Protestant service for the soldiers training at North Fort
Hood.
We were in a classroom building. The place was packed! People were standing
against the walls to make room for everyone.
Church members wore jeans and button down shirts or T-shirts. Soldiers were
in uniform including flak jackets and Kevlar helmets. They carried their
M-16s.
Gladys and Ronnie Barber brought their guitars and gifted us with music.
Jinafer Diserens sang and prayed for the safety of our soldiers. Our praise
team played. Our ladies, and some of our men, brought milk and cookies. One
of the Chaplains preached.
Prayer requests were shared and we prayed for them. Everyone in our church
was able to be involved from our smallest babies to our oldest seniors. Each
one of us was able to serve according to our Spirit led gifts.
Everyone, church members and soldiers, had an incredible time of worship and
fellowship.
