The First Baptist Church of Flat had the honor of serving Home-Smoked Barbeque to the soldiers and sailors training at North Fort Hood including 37 different desserts available to satisfy any sweet tooth.  Approximately 220 soldiers, sailors, and church members attended this event.

The church did much more than just bring a home cooked meal to hard working service men and women.
There was a lot of conversation and the young boys tossed a football back and forth with some of the soldiers. Several took pictures and the children asked for the autographs of the soldiers and sailors.

We want to encourage other churches to reach out in love to the men and women who serve our country.

Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again.
Ecclesiastes 11:1

The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Matthew 25:40

He also said, "This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground.
Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how."  Mark 4:26-27
