On Sunday evening, October 19, 2008, Blake Kimbrough spoke at Lakeview Baptist Church in Belton, TX.

Blake is an IMB missionary to the northern province of Zambia in Africa.  He is very dear to us at the First Baptist Church of Flat.
An mp3 audio recording of his presentation is available here for download.

Kimbrough Family Update!!
(posted 05/05/08)

In our prayer update we sent to you earlier this month, we asked you to pray for the camping trip to Katate Village.  Blake, along with the new believers from Luwalizi, are currently camping in Katete until Thursday.  Amazingly, Blake was able to drive some kilometers away and get a signal on his cell phone, so thankfully I can pass on a report to you.

They went door-to-door telling people about Jesus and at least one person made a decision for Christ this morning!  Many people were invited to a Bible study and 4 men accepted Christ!  This afternoon a huge rainstorm went through the village, flooding their tents and campsite, but the group (believers from Luwalizi and new believers in Katete) kept on worshipping the Lord, singing hymns, and bonding as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Please continue to pray for the remainder of this trip, for more souls to be saved, for seeds to be planted, for safety for Blake and the others.
More updates will follow on our blog in the coming days!

Kimbrough Missionary Family Update!!
(posted 01/13/08)

Dear Faithful Prayer Supporters,

Just over a week ago we asked you to pray for the new believers in the Luwalizi villages and we are so excited about what is happening there, that we can't wait for our usual prayer update to share it with you! We hope you don't mind hearing what God is doing! Please rejoice with us and continue to pray!

This past Friday, the believers in Luwalizi village caught the vision about baptism and becoming a church. This Tuesday, 15 January, baptism will take place for these new believers and will mark the beginning of the Luwalizi Baptist Church! Pray for the new believers to follow through with baptism and grow in their relationship with the Lord. Pray for strength and excitement as they become a church.

One of the new believers, Mike, is actually from a village much closer to Isoka, although he has been attending the Bible study in Luwalizi village.
On Friday, he asked Blake to come and share the truth of Jesus with his village! So this coming Wednesday, 16 January, Blake and Moses (our Zambian friend, pastor, and translator) will go to Mike's village, where he has a group of people ready to hear the life-changing stories from the Bible! In addition, surveying and initial evangelism will begin in this new village in the coming days and weeks. Pray for a welcome reception in this new village. Pray for souls to be saved!

We thank you for faithfully lifting up in prayer the Nyika and many other people groups we find in this area of Zambia!

Please feel free to share this praise report with your church, Sunday School class, etc.

Serving Him Together,

The Kimbrough Family

In December 2007, the Webb family went to Zambia on a short term mission trip
to help the Kimbroughs.

Care Package Ideas
(updated 8/20/07)

"Thanks so much for wanting to wanting to update our care package information.
It means so much that people still think about us, pray for us and might want
to show their encouragement through packages!
We are quite amazed at what all we can find in Lusaka, but often it comes with
a high price tag.   Thanks again!"  ~Dawnya

Address for sending packages:

Blake and Dawnya Kimbrough
PO BOX 440144
Isoka, Zambia, Africa

Here are some tips on sending packages:

1) Packages under 5 pounds cost about $27 – 32.00 to mail. My last package had some small toys for the kids, a book, a DVD, dishtowels, angel figurines for Christmas, chip clips, etc. It was about as deep as a shoebox and as wide as 2 shoeboxes side by side.

2) Make sure you send it airmail. They will tell you it will get there in 7-8 days, but it really takes about 3 weeks for them to receive it. If you send it by ship it will arrive in about 4 months.

3) When you fill out the customs form, be generic when you list what items you have put in it. For instance, if you have a box that has DVD’s, books, and candy/food items in it, you may want to put "food items and books" instead of listing candy or DVDs.
